Mood Swings

DAY 2
Though i do not follow the daily zodiac predictions religiously i do agree with most of the characteristics associated with my Sun Sign Gemini. I do find striking similarities between my behavioral patterns and the nature of the Gemini according to the zodiac.
Mood Swings being one of them.

The reasons, for the mood swings, i find, a bit risky to disclose on the blog. But one thing i must say is  i need to control the way i react. To be precise i must choose not to react in certain situations.  Maybe its just that i expect a bit too much  too soon. If there is anything i wish to master during the remaining 60 Days, its my mood swings, my expectations from people i consider close and those who are indeed close.

I couldnt break much ground today so far. with about 30 min to go for the end of the day, i hope i will manage to cover some tidbits. Inputs from the study group have been nill too what with one being caught up in family commitments. Need to discipline my self more. I hope the mind rules from now on.
60 days to Meow!

The Baby Steps

The stage was set. Now we are a group of  four. A study group is one factor which can make or mar your chances in CAT. Initially it was just me and sandy as a study group. But i thought it would be better to pitch in atleast 2 more members for the study.

As luck would have it, We were let off an hour early today giving me the much needed time to get things ready. My  clinical planning is too clean to be put into practice. Have always known that. Plans no matter however meticulously planned go awry if ground realities are ignored. I realised this within an hour of starting my study.

The first section i chose to cover was quants. Though i had taken into account the fatigue that would set in after a day at work(that i get tired  even if no work is assigned is another thing altogether :p). An auspicious start it was for it was dussehra. But with stuff like puri, basundi served on the dining table fairies from dreamland needed no inviting! It was one of those rare occasions where i successfully managed to trick my body into accepting a 10 minute siesta !

Day1 - 28Sept

It was a back to school session with the book by arun verma. was glad to know that my 10th class score in math stood justified. plenty of rough edges around and limited time to smoothen them.
Paucity of time is a universal complaint, no matter what stage of life you are at. In recent years, and more so after reading books like the secret and "The Alchemist"  my faith in the universe has reinforced. There indeed are signals being sent out to us at various junctures. Identify them and you have a turning point; miss them and you might have to wait a bit longer for the next indicator  to appear on the horizon.

Though i didnt manage even 50% of what i had planned on day 1 it was a start for sure. My group of 4 is a pillar of strength for sure. The guy who started it all is a jovial chap. As for the other two one is a an extrovert to the core while the other takes time to open up in a new environ - an ambivert you might say.
End of Day 1. 61 to go!

Day one was a start. yes it was. Time to up the tempo and  keep it going! :)

The short of it

After returning to Hyderabad, i chose to join a job in a non-IT sector. I decided to bide my time till a promising option in software came by. It had been nearly 2 weeks since the cat forms were out. Sandy, a colleague of mine  had already applied for the cat. As luck would have it we were let off from work on friday afternoon thereby making the weekend a longer one. Sandy offered to drop me home on his bike. In the next 20 min ride Sandy managed to convince me that i should give the CAT a shot. He was and still is of the opinion that my verbal skills were good , which is achilles heel for a majority of the aspirants.
Life sure had become lazy and i thought this preparation would come handy for sure.
by end of day i was 1400 bucks poorer and nearly damaged my exam voucher when instead of scratching of the card to get the voucher no, i decided to remove the tape covering the code. Luckily for me the exam voucher no was intact.
Apart from a bright career i had other motives too for applying for the IIM CAT; a reason which i shall disclose if the events unfold favorably ;)

what is the blog all about?

Life sure is one helluva experience!
I document my 62 day preparation for the IIMcat 2k9.
At the time of writing this I have no idea whether i will be able to crack the cat or not.
But what encouraged me to go for the cat at the 11th hour is what i put down in this blog.
I hope my 62 day journey turns out to be a great learning experience.
